I don't shoot guns, or at least haven't for years so would not be comfortable doing that.
Last year when I put Princess pony down at the Vet, she fought us some after the first injection. She never was a people horse though so I wasn't surprised at her objection which I think had more to do with 3 of us standing next to her. It took a big horse dose though to do the job.
With Nifty, it was almost instant. Tranq, he laid down and was almost asleep. Never even knew the second shot was administered. But he enjoyed people in the short 2 months he was with me. Still brings tears to my eyes. There is no way I could have had someone shoot him. Too risky that they might talk big and mess up the job.
