I'm always super nice and patient on the phone. I don't like it and I'd rather rant and rave, but offensive insanity never won any favors. The only time I've ever gotten mad was when the customer service guy WOULD NOT help me. At all. Kept giving me a bunch of crap and denying that he could transfer me to a manager, for an hour. Lo and behold, manager (when I finally freaking got there) solved my issue in 5 minutes.

What bugs me is that everyone thinks their problem is so unique and nobody has ever had that issue before. I work at a service center, it's private so we're a bit like Pop Copy in that we don't do customer service as such. But we still get irritating demands from people who seem to believe that they are our only customer. "You mean that you forgot to order on time so now you want to push back everyone else's order, who did order on time, to rush yours through? No, nobody has ever asked us to do that before." We don't, BTW. You order on time like everyone else, delivery is only delayed if we have a breakdown.
