All of you that have never heard of cheatgrass: Come to Eastern Oregon and walk though the wheat fields in tennis shoes. You will never forget it!

AMEN!!! I just moved here (about 45 min away from Hermiston) last spring, and have never dealt with cheat grass in such proliferation as it is here. It's horrible; gets into dogs' ears, eyes, and paws, and will get into horses' ears and eyes as well, and can cause absesses and infections in the throat (problem with cows, apparently) and anywhere else it gets caught in. It's also a booger to clean, since it works into your carpets and rugs and sticks.
I've also been introduced to the joys of tumbleweeds; I never knew before that you can actually get "tumbleweed-ed " in your driveway or road. It's horrible!!
