Josie, I just wanted to stress to you and your mother that there is NOTHING wrong with owning a fugly horse. My mare is over at the knee, funky necked, roach backed, swaybacked, big eared, upright shoulder, upright pasterns... none of it matters, because she's just a trail horse and she takes good care of me. (Except for her trot, then I think she's trying to kill me... but I digress.) She could probably go to lower-level shows and do just fine. But is she breeding quality? Hell no. There is nothing special about her that needs to be passed on to future generations. And in this market, where people are giving away mediocre horses for free, there is no good reason to breed more of them. I'm glad to hear that you are willing to give this more thought.

As for the stud's neck, go and read this thread: http://fhotd64476.yuku.com/topic/2402
