Many years ago a friend decided she didn't want her fish any more and I inherited an orange oscar (called Oscar) and two "sharks" which were (I think a variety of catfish from Asia somewhere) Oscar demanded to be fed worms and small snails.

I had to start a worm farm for his delicate tastes, and my garden had no snails at all - it was a hunt every afternoon so that he could have his snack. I had him for about 5 years, and then one morning there he was, belly up. Probably old age.

The two "sharks", which were black, and absolutely mental I gave away to a hobbyist who happened to be an electrician who had come to the house to install extra power switches. Fortuitous. The tank was 5ft long and 3 and a half ft deep, I had two filters running, a heater each end

and a long fluro tube along the top of the tank. No photos - this was before digital. Oscar wasn't sweet or charming, but he WAS interesting.
