Yeah when they're like that you only have two options.  Let them chill or ride hell bent for shoe leather.   There is no inbetween.  There would be no nice walk/jog trail ride thing that's for sure.

I'd go hell bent for shoe leather.  Like I tell Mickey, "a horse won't run forever.  They have to stop eventually"  Laugh   I think that's why my friend Joan back in NJ always called me a "bold" rider.   Her SO who was my boss when I was shoeing horses called me "fucking crazy".   I think I prefer "bold". Laugh 

Just because I rode her new OTTB bareback with just a halter and lead to his pasture that was WAAAYYYYYY far from the barn after we shod him because I was too lazy to walk, only to find out later he had never been ridden outside the ring, nevermind bareback with a halter and just one lead. Who knew?    Then I took Daves combined driving horse on a 15 mile hunter pace even though he had never been ridden before (just driven). Laugh
