I'm saying no to quote tunnels, but I agree with DnH and Unruli. I didn't even read the whole letter, it was so long and abrasive.

Also, the idea of how well a dog will work out in an apartment is better than the actual application (Ask me how I know!). I love Kinsey and she is the best decision I ever made. However, I can't imagine Kinsey as a puppy. My replies take forever now because I'm always studying/typing with one hand and playing with the do with the other. I'm sure you're going to be a great owner, but it might make things easier to get an adult rescue dog. You and your boyfriend have the rest of your lives to get the dog of your dreams.

I know when I went to the shelter, they a) didn't need to be asked so many questions and b) had "adoption counselors" who sat down and talked with me about what I wanted in a dog and why. Rural shelters don't have that, so I was very impressed. I made sure to find a dog that would be suitable for me now and in the future, and an adult dog is perfect for that. There were guarantees that even the best puppy can't give you. I know that even though I live alone now, with no other dogs, kids or cats, that it's a possibility for the future. When I'm ready to make those decisions, I know that I will have the perfect dog, not a dog that is still developing and changing.
