When is a very good question.

If someone asks for advice on tank size for their new fish, most people will tell them to get whatever size tank the fish will need as an adult. Even if it's only 1.5" long at the moment. Why? Because people will buy a smaller tank, thinking they will upgrade as needed, but then life/finances get in the way and they don't. If they start out with the appropriate size tank, they don't have to worry about it later.

Don't get a dog based on the assumption that you will be upgrading to a house with a yard, but an apartment will be fine for awhile. What happens if your plans fall through? One or both of you lose your job and have to put the house hunt on hold for awhile? You two break up?

a box of rain will ease the pain, and love will see you through...
