Flip, there are lots of genealogy sites that are free. The LDS has a really great resource where you can find a lot of info, if you have some names and dates from your family history.

I occasionally delve into researching my family tree, as history fascinates me. I go through phases where I am obsessive about it, then I leave it alone for 9 months....then return again. It really can be time consuming if you let it. But so rewarding when you get neat stories like the ones on this thread.

My Great grandfather was a riveter at Harland and Wolf Shipyard in Belfast. He worked on the Titanic. That's about the most interesting thing I have found out about my family so far. But I haven't been able to go back very far yet. It's hard to choose which line to concentrate on, and sometimes I get a dead end. Those are frustrating. I sure wish I had asked my grandparents more questions when they were alive. Your living ancestors can really be your best resource when it comes to genealogy!
