She flounced off after getting repeatedly jumped on for insisting on riding and jumping a horse that was too small for her size/weight. Someone even went to the trouble of putting pics side by side of Mercury without a rider - back was level and then a pic of the horse carrying her weight - back was dipped. Even after people tried to make her see that if she wanted to ride this horse, she would be kinder to stay off until she lost weight, she still said something like, "It's my fucking horse and I will ride him if I want to." Lovely. She had another horse who was more size-appropriate for her, which makes this more galling.Anyway, about a year or more ago, I did a search just to see if wherever she went, people would speak up for the horse. Of course not - she was posting on HGS and Island Horses.Mercury was the horse that was well suited to her (Canadian X I believe), the other horse I believe was called Ben and he was a large STB that seemed a bit low in the weight department but not thin or emaciated, and was primarily for Mercury's (the human) husband but for some reason she was riding him (to train?) and yes, wouldn't hear reason. Don't people at Island Horses totally sunshine and rainbows her?

Every horse deserves to be so highly valued! Congrats to Ruby. She's won the owner lottery:soshorses wrote:
The journey we have taken with Ruby is a long one but basically she is stage one navicular. Tiff and I both feel that it would not be right to expect her to run barrels even with the best farrier/vet care. She will breakdown somewhere else and we will end up killing her. Her life is worth more than the few dollars she may win.
