When he's actually in R.E.M. sleep he mutters and sighs a lot.

There was a colt in race training at a place I worked  that was a world's champion sleeper. Put him up after being hot walked and bathed in the morning and in fifteen minutes he be flat out, snoring. I mean LOUD. Like a charter in a Hanna-Barbera cartoon. It would rattle the stall door. Soon every horse in the shed row was doing the same thing.

But he ran like someone lit his butt on fire. Went on to be a graded stakes winner. Go figure.
