Depending on the horse, I keep most horses between 45 and 55 degrees. Some horses don't grow heel and some grow too much heel, for instance, so you have to make sure your farrier trims for the benefit of the horse.

And I have just got to add, one of my pet peeves is when folks call the coronet band the coronary band. Drives me up the wall. It's CORONET, people. The CORONET band has nothing to do with the heart.
