Huh. Does anyone want to email Isabell Werth and tell her that she's a bad rider and trainer? Should I do it?

Of course, what ddr apparently does not know is that beginning this past year, USEF mandated helmets for ALL Dressage competitors through 4th level. It is my understanding (if it hasn't passed yet, I've not checket) that the FEI is considering mandatory helmets, too. After Courtney King-Dye's accident many FEI level riders have chosen to wear helmets regardless of the rule being mandatory.

From Courtney's website:
"On March 3, 2010, a horse Courtney was riding tripped and fell. Courtney was not wearing a helmet and suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury. She spent 4 weeks in a coma and 3 months in in-patient rehabilitation re-learning how to walk and talk. Courtney continues to do out-patient therapy, including riding horses in hippo therapy, and has the ultimate goal of riding internationally again. She oversees the training of the horses who are with her, teaching her assistant trainer, FEI Level rider Jennifer Marchand, on the horses she has for her competitive future and horses in training.

Courtney's personal goals are twofold. Presently, her primary focus is on 100% recovery and a return to international riding. When she achieves that, she will then focus on competing in another Olympic Games and continuing her education to improve in the sport that she loves.
