That's a really stupid analogy.  I don't have car insurance because I think it'll protect my car.  I have it so that when/if an accident occurs, the insurance company will pay to fix my car.

I wish that wearing my helmet meant that, if an accident occurred, the helmet company would pay my medical bills. 

Too bad there isn't an insurance policy or helmet that would guarantee accidents never occurred!
