Anyway, I had only ever heard it referred to as the coronary band... coronet was a leg marking. I guess all those people that must be wrong must then include O.R. Adams of the Bible for equine legs and hooves - Lameness in Horses. That is a major text in most Equine Science and Farrier courses - but WTF would he know?

The Farrier Lab at our college taught it as coronary band. I guess they were morons as well. Merck's Veterinary Manual uses both terms... but I guess they must be "incorrect" for using coronary band. Ditto for the Equine Research Veterinary Encyclopedia. You have got a lot of letter writing, lecturing and "correcting" to do, SFTS... assorted vet school texts might be a good place to start.
