I have another question for everyone but it is off the subject of my original post; hope this is alright. So those that are divorced with children; is it wrong or right to take something away from your child that your ex bought them on a temporary basis? I took away an IPod and an IPhone from two of my kids, temporarily, because they seem to think it is alright not to follow my rules. Got a call from my ex who was furious because he paid for them and it is not in my right to take them away, even temporarily. I am in no way taking these gifts away from them forever but some of the things my two kids did could lead to something really serious; one rule in my house is that you don't run the drier in the evening because it doesn't shut off automatically, so we set the alarm on the microwave for it. Well, my daughter thinks that she can sneak into the laudry room when I am asleep and do her laundry but she always forgets and the drier runs all night. This is so dangerous and I would buy a new drier if I could; when I explained this to my ex he just kept yelling and not listening. Am I wrong in taking these items from my children to hopefully teach them a lesson?
