I had a client needing to change some paperwork, and the reason was he just got married and he decided to take her name. True story. He actually made the comment "I bet you find it odd!" and I said "I find it refreshing! I think more should be that confident and secure in themselves they can take their wife's name" and then a discussion ensued on why. Super nice guy and very manly too so it wasn't like she was the stronger character in the relationship!

My mother didn't return to her maiden name but I know she did sort of want to. I will for sure take my future husband's surname, I HATE my last name. I even have considered legally changing my name to my grandmother's maiden name so that if I ever divorced I'd be able to return to that name... or if I never married I'd have a name I'm comfortable with..
