Honestly, I'd be thankful I got it back. However, I do think it's weird it 'disappeared' and then came back to the same place. Someone had to have done that deliberately and it's just childish.

However, it's equally childish to just be pissed off about it and not say anything - that gets you nowhere.

If you leave stuff around the place at my yard, you'd better hope the person who finds it is enough of a friend to you to recognise it as yours and know where it belongs and can put it back for you. If that's the case, people are good enough to do so, or to keep it their car if it's something small you've genuinely forgotten. However, you leave stuff around that no one recognises or isn't supposed to be there and you can damn well bet I'm going to take it and stuff it in lost property and you won't see it again unless you go look there. And that's if I get to it first - we're a riding school and random stuff left around WILL be assumed to be part of the 'communal property', often genuinely. Not to mention 'lost property' tends to be seen as 'fair game' because no one ever collects anything from the damn TWO LOCKERS of stuff anyway.

I will stop here before I launch into my usual tirade about how I am just going to donate the whole of our lost property lockers to charity and keep any good stuff.
