BP go see your GP if they won't refer your for at least x-rays get a second opinion. They should send you to a specialist who will decide whether or not you need an MRI. Technically your GP can send you for an MRI but it's better to see the specialist first then they can decide if they want contrast or not, plus they are better at reading them and using them for diagnosis. I needed an MRI of my shoulder but with all of my allergies they wouldn't touch me with a barge pole. I had to have eight x-rays of my lower spine, pelvis and both hips which show signs of arthritis so I'm seeing a specialist for that. I slipped a disc in my back doing something dumb, I bent down to pick up a dog bed just after doing a moving and handling course at work. I'm hoping he can help me with that and everything else.

Also x-rays and MRI's can show the damage to bones but the amount of damage isn't relevant to pain. You can have minor problems but massive amounts of pain or massive amount of damage and little pain. You'd be surprised at what can happen, yes doctors and nurses need to be careful but a patient should never be left in pain. I'm 24 too but my doctor is awesome, she comes out for appointments and she pushes for everything that she can. I've had ultrasounds and x-rays and I have two specialists to see before I can sort out the pain in my neck. Sometimes it just feels like I'm falling apart, I wonder how many x-rays I can manage this year. The worst part is having a history of bone tumours so if something new hurts I get rushed in for blood tests and x-rays and play the waiting game again.

I always feel for people with sore backs and necks you just can't get away from the pain. I hope that you get your problems sorted out CK and that no one gets any worse!

If you could see yourselves... We had it all. We have fucked up bigger and better than any generation that came before us. We were so beautiful... We're screw-ups. I plan on staying a screw-up until my late twenties, or maybe even my early thirties.
