I agree with BIWAP's bag choices (as usual). EA has some great stuff and I have a pair of boots from EA that are to die for and are now about 5 years old, still in style, and still look great. They were a gift and weren't cheap, but they last forever. I am certainly in the camp where "spend more for something that lasts" exists, but I have quite a few work bags now so I do give mine a break from time to time. My favorite one - one I got at next in the UK which had this ADORABLE lining and plenty of space for my computer and books - died last fall when the straps started to fall apart. I have replaced it with something more practical that I actually bought at Naturalizer on sale. It has held up great. I have another bag made by a designer on etsy and a black and white leather tote I bought ages ago that can carry A-4's. It depends on if I am toting my computer or not and WHICH computer I am carrying.

For things like Etienne Aigner, Michael Kors, and even Marc Jacobs, check out Marshall's and Nordstrom Rack. I am too poor to buy much of anything anymore, but when I had a disposable income, that was where I would look for handbags that I never could have afforded retail. They have a wide-range of work bags. I have 15+ handbags in total and more at my parent's house to rotate out, so it really is a problem. Since I can't afford big bags anymore (my favorites) I am now in love with clutch bags, but for workbags, you have a variety of good options at discount stores.
