Mine gets a small amount of a complete feed that has copper and selenium in, she also has access to a mineral block but I think she doesn't use it because the feed is enough.

If I work her into a sweat on a hot day I'll sponge with water. If she works herself into a sweat she has to live with it. (ETA: incidentally, she wasn't broke in the older, faded picture and thus sweat a LOT more in the more recent one from all the rides) I don't blanket her and I don't stall her in the summer, but she has access to the barn for shade.

The first photo was last year in June or July; the second was 3-4 years ago in July or August. I can't remember what I've done differently in those years in between, but she used to fade like crazy and then last year she just stopped. I don't think I had her on BOSS last year, but I do remember I started her on oil a few weeks before that show to put some shine on her (lol, it worked). I think it must be the feed - something in there is doing her good! (I could have sworn she's been on it for a few years though)

Who knows.. I've often wondered why she just stayed black last year, but never really sat down to think about it. Truth is I kind of miss the fading, I used to enjoy having a (visually) bay horse in the summer and a black one in the winter, lol. But it WAS kinda nice taking her to that show looking like.. Well, shiny and black.

ETA: It'll be interesting to hear what the others say!
