Washing, sheeting and keeping them from getting sweaty in the sun are pretty much all you can do.

Bleaching is from salt in sweat getting baked by sun. Tess has a spot that sweats on her shoulder (I've posted about it a bunch) from what I think is nerve damage and it bleaches out like crazy even in the winter. Otherwise she doesn't bleach too awful bad if she has shade or gets hosed off a lot. This summer wasn't bad because she went swimming whenever she got hot lol.

My ex's mom's brown tb used to get lines from his tack down his face because she didn't believe in washing them. Only scraping them if they were sweaty after a ride.
