You're not a bad horse person-you're a horse-less horse person. Which sucks but when life gives you lemons...

I think 3 or 4 basic riding lessons would give you a great start. A lot of what I see in the picture are little things that you could probably fix in one lesson (and then just have to remember). Believe me, none of us here are perfect (my last lesson I was told at to sit on my butt cheeks or the horse would never slow down. And to get my shoulders back. And to stop staring at the reins. This after years and years of riding...sigh) which is why a lot of us are still taking lessons, posting threads asking if the saddle/blanket/whatever fits right, etc.

I don't think anyone thinks you're stupid, they just saw you getting into the same situation (or worse) than the one you just got out of.
