Hah, too bad it wasn't the good ol days when I got riding lessons on my cousin's friend's pony for $10 a pop. Good enough for the most basic teachings, I mean back then my lack of skill and knowledge didn't need anyone special. I'm thinking similar for Oreo but too bad the costs aren't anywhere near that anymore.

Hopefully you can find a good beginners coach that has good schoolhorses! I'm sure you can, but hopefully just within your price range.

Also, Oreo, while you're mourning you shouldn't be looking at any pets for sale ads. It's the devil's candy girl! You are in a tough place emotionally, and your guard is down. It's not surprising you go to find solace and comfort from getting a new animal but it's SUCH a bad choice for you right now. By all means, stay on this board - there's quite a few people who haven't had a horse in years, or ever. I'll bet we even have a couple that have never been on a horse! And I'm with the others, I urge you to take lessons. I think you'll find them both rewarding and sufficiently challenging which may serve as a turning point for your gloom right now in your life
