Harrowing smashes dung and spreads it and that means it also spreads any parasites.

If it's really hot and asolutely no rain at all then the heat will kill any exposed eggs.

Though in such a small area and say 10 to 15 piles of dung a day, you just don't have the space to spread it and expose it totally. 

If the area is soiled then the horse won't choose graze from it.   Harrow and spread it everywhere and with such a small area and he will have to and you've just spread larvae for him to eat.

Intensive grazing and too acidic (which you risk with over intensive harrowing of dung) will lead to lime deficiency over time.  Buttercups  love that.

I harrow in the late spring and leave the field either empty or complimentary graze sheep or cattle in it.   My smallest field is 8 acres though
