thanks for all the ideas! I have checked the trailer top and bottom and cannot find anything that should be bothering her. The only thing I can think of is last time we went somewhere on the way home it was EXTREMELY hot. I leave all the windows and vents open but I don't haul them with the drop down windows open because I don't like them sticking their heads out. It was a short drive though about 10 miles.

I am using a nylon halter. I tried a chain at one point but it only made her worse so I took it off.

The one thing I left out on accident is that the trailer was a dark color on the inside ( maroon). after the first day of issues I decided to paint the inside white and spent all of Sunday afternoon repainting it thinking that it may help and make it look more open.

It shouldn't be very slippery or anything it has rubber mats with shavings on the floor.

I will try to get pictures of it later.

I like the lunging idea if I can get her listening to "forward" better then it makes sense that it should transfer over. I am off tomorrow and will be getting up early to try to avoid the heat of the day to try working with her again. To me this is the most frustrating thing a horse can do!

In the same way, if we want to achieve physical and aesthetic balance, we must remove excess aids and motions from our riding, leaving only self-carriage and harmony."—Jim Wofford
