So...I had a brain fart and recommended this to my fiancé to watch. Not something a pilot/air traffic controller really enjoys watching. He says he has already had nightmares about plane crashes.

Easy way to make up for it:
show him an uplifting one, such as the famous "Miracle Landing" of Aloha Airlines flight 243.

Basic summary-- the plane turned itself into a convertible, mid-flight:
* The entire front half of the roof peeled off and blew away, in flight.
* Electrical wires were yanked out, and several systems that depended on them short-circuited.
* The air circulation system stopped.
* Emergency oxygen tank lines were ripped out with the roof, disabling the oxygen system.
* Debris from the roof got sucked into one of the two engines, shutting it down.
* During final approach, the landing gear displays refused to engage; the crew had no idea if the wheels were down or not (they were).

...and yet, despite all of this, they managed to bring it in on the remaining engine, for an emergency landing; and not a single passenger was lost!
