It's hunting, you are galloping across country and you jump what comes up. Thats the way hunting is all around the world. Wire fences actually have a lot of give and sway and I think in the last three seasons of hunting I have had one horse get a nick from hitting a fence. They are more likely to get cut on gorse and scrub than the actual fences. I'd much rather jump barb than high tensile wire, because barb wire breaks and high tensile stretches and crushes and is hard to break and so more damaging. A lot of very very good hunters are actually pretty careless showjumpers, it doesn't cross over.
