Nope, just voicing my thoughts. I think jumping barbed wire even if it is the social "norm" where ever they live is beyond stupid and dangerous.

I also believe and it has realllly been bothering me since I first seen D2D post that, that amount of weight is totally unfair to the mount and JUMPING it?!...

Right, and we were all voicing our thoughts re: your pony being the wrong match for your kid, the wrong size for your kid, untrained kids shouldn't be driving, your kid's helmet being wrong, your horse's poor nutrition and valuting originated in the circus.

There is nothing I cannot stand more than people judging another rider by their weight just to be mean. I'm sure since D2D has owned these horses for years, if there were health problems for them based on her weight, her vet would have addressed it.

You know what camryn? I'm sorry. I was way too nasty in the thread and I shouldn't have been.  I have a pet peeve re: riders being told they are too big for their horses b/c I had a good friend in saratoga nearly sell a horse she loved b/c barn mean girls were harassing her about being too big for her horse. it went on and on. my friend asked her vet if it was ok to ride the horse and the vet said it was fine. and these girls would not quit. it got so she was afraid to get on her horse. and that was a shame b/c she loved him and he had a great home with her. it all worked out in the end, but it was awful for a long time.

so I'd like to apologize for being such a stand up bitch.

However, I still think you were WRONG to slam D2D and you should not be  picking on another rider for her size
Correct.  My horse's vet is Dr. Tracy Turner, leg/back dr extraordinaire, also an eventer like myself.  I have brought the issue up with him several times, actually every year and he tells me to stop worrying.  I bring my horses in to the clinic over every little thing whether it be something or nothing (usually is, but I am careful).  I also have them assessed regularly by chiropractors.  The only time my gelding ever had a sore back was for the 2 years I leased him to a 110lb rider who was learning and bounced a lot (especially on mounting) and mounting him from the ground.  I am very mindful of them because I do know my limits and I know I weigh more than many riders.  My QH was started by a 6'3" cowboy who outweighs me, but nobody thinks that's an issue because he's tall and a man.  Short lady fat weighs more than man fat and everyone knows that

Go ahead Camryn, it's not like I haven't heard it before.  I do know I am overweight, I have been improving my riding and losing weight (or at least trying to), you haven't told me anything that I don't know.  When I AM told things I don't know, I do make an effort to find out more information and change.
