My dressage instructor on Saturday commented on how fit Dale was. I looked at her in surprise, as he hasn't long been in from the paddock and we've only been lightly hacking out (by my standards). I said that if I was getting ready for an event he would be much, much, much fitter. She then proceeded to ask if I'd ever considered that might be part of my (dressage) problem XD Sadly, she's not the first person to tell me my horses are too fit lol :P

I simply do not comprehend people who never ride out of an arena. I honestly wouldn't cope, let alone the horses. If given the choice a) you can compete, but never ride outside an arena or b) you can rider outside an arena but never compete there is absolutely no hesitation in which I would choose!
