I've been veggie all my life - 47 years. I'm fine with people eating meat. sometimes people are worried I won't want to sit at a table with them if they are eating it! I've tried meat and thought it was vile, even the smell - including bacon.
I guess I don't have the zeal of the converted. I do eat dairy and really the life of a commercial dairy cow is much harder and more of a welfare issue than the life of a beef steer who spends a few happy years eating with his friends then has the 'one bad day'.
I've never needed iron supplements but do need vit B supplements sometimes as I don't really eat bread.
I love food and cooking and being veggie is limiting. I didn't bring my children up veggie because of that. I am glad I was though, now I have RA and have found out meat is bad for people with autoimmune diseases and when I think back to all the little niggling symptoms I have had since childhood I wonder if I might have developed juvenile arthritis if I had eaten meat as a child.
