Most horses just don't flip-out from no-where. What does the horse do before he bolts or spooks? He's giving you a heads up that it is coming and if you can't stop him from doing the little stuff before things get out of hand you need expert help. Usually they'll get a little more spring in thier step, thier back might tense, thier head will come up a little more, little stuff that can be worked out before it's a fight and everyone has high-blood pressure.
Sorry, usually a lurker but see this with a lot of people - why ride out a dramatic mess when you can nip it in the bud early. It's a heck of a lot safer.
