My usual lesson was rained out this week (no indoor where I ride). But last week's lesson was amazing. I've been riding an Andy/QH gelding who's very particular about everything; if you don't do things correctly and firmly he will wander the arena and ignore everything you try to do. Most of my lessons include a few points where I have to stop and reevaluate everything I'm doing to figure out why he's not listening. Last lesson things just came together so smoothly, doing all the patterns off almost all seat and legs and just a little bit of rein. We didn't have any awkward not listening moments and I finally managed to figure out leg yields after weeks of feeling completely lost about them. It was so awesome :] Things went well enough at a walk and trot that we did some cantering for the first time in a while. It was great.
