CK- what are you feeding these guys, and where do you buy your feed?

Right now we are strickly on all the good grass hay and clean water they can eat and drink.
Dec 17 we float and a week after that we will add a little senior feed. If they can hold that then we will start adding supplements and such.
My vet right now is in charge of the feeding program.
Raven is a good 50lbs lighter than Rook.
We want to be careful that we don't do to much too soon for there little systems.
We aren't even doing the sand cleanse for 2 weeks to make sure they have enough roughage in there bodies.

I get from your post you are interested in making a feed donation of some type for these guys. Which I appreciate.
Feed is really not an issue of cost. I board at a high end barn with many great feed choices plus being in Central MN Good hay is cheap and easy to find. Not to mention we grow our own, (The barn).

The vet has recommended Free choice minerals. I was going to do one of those large mineral blocks.
But now I am looking for loose minerals, so if you could suggest some that would be great.

Right now we don't really need anything.
The BO found 2 yearling blankets that should work when we need them.
If we need them. Dec 4 and 43 degrees!! WTF!
Someone else here who I wouldn't mind patting on the back donated funds for what ever use I wanted, so
Instead of 1 blanket, we decided on 2 brand new fitting halters and some minerals for them.

However, I am not going to stop someone from doing something nice that they want to do by their own choice.......
I am not asking for anything.

But the list of things I could use:
More medicated shampoo. This is going to be a multi bath process.
A couple of good medium Dandy brush's as I don't want to cross contaminate. I have resisted the urge to "brush" them until I can bathe them. They are so bony, I cant believe it would feel good right now anyway.  Vet has Ok'ed Bath tomorrow. We will get the funk off them. Then they will be touch able and huggable.
Maybe some hoof cream/gel/goop. One has an old founder growing out and they both have chalky mushroom feet.
No thrush has been found so that is good.

Rook was tearing around in the round pen today. I didn't have the camera to get pictures, but that girl has got some Knees!!
I will be getting pictures tomorrow hopefully of new feet and after baths. I am hoping my farrier can get to them today. We will see. He needs to pick up some front shoes for Raven, the sole is bulging and he thinks her coffin bone is pretty low. Xrays in 2 weeks when they are doped up for the float.

Their colors are going to be pink and black. Alone or mixed. No animal print.

The waiting is really hard.
I want to feed and clean and trim and do everything they deserve but, you have to take it slow.
Too much too fast and we will have complications.
