Most of my goals for 2012 didn't work out. But I'm over it and don't see the point of dwelling on the past. I had a lot of small victories but lost the war, so to speak.

Goals for 2013:
- find a really suitable horse and have the patience to wait for the right one
- do at least one schooling show if I find this horse before mid year
- get past my major position flaws so I'm only working on minor fixes (these are where most of my small victories were for 2012 but have plenty more to work on!)

I just started half leasing a 3rd level horse. He's more an intermediate ride but has a good brain and comfortable gaits. But he makes you work for quality gaits. I've got so much to learn from him. I've gotten past finding the typical dead head, tunes-you-out-unless-you-demand-it, what-do-you-mean-bend? lesson horses challenging. I needed a horse that was forgiving and quiet but had slightly more challenging gaits and requires you to be in the right spot for him to give the correct response.
