At the start of 2012 I had no idea I would start riding, I had Bella down the farm and Jess had Basil and I had my trailer and all was well.  By mid 2012 my daughter wanted a break from horses and went a bit off the rails generally.  Both Basil and Bella were on loan and my trailer was sold, although I still had horses in my life, and helped look after both Basil and Bella at times I felt kind of lost and down . I had been ill for much of 2011/12 and one positive aspect of this was that I couldn't eat mega fatty stuff (and still can't) I lost about 40-50lbs. So, in June I decided to start (very casual) riding lessons with a friend who had a weight carrying nice hoss called Solly.

I had the opportunity to do a lot of riding, 3-4 times a week out hacking, Solly's owner even had a western saddle so I could "hang on" better til I developed a seat. I did a lot of hanging on!
Then in September I got the opportunity to have the lovely Maggie on loan and I haven't looked back

Then, Jess's interest in riding appeared to return, and we ride out together as often as we can!

I don't have any big goals, just try not to get injured, gain some more experience and have some fun, maybe get so that I can be confident in control in even the fastest, fizziest company and take Maggie to a fun ride with her owner and her horse and  Jess and Basil, I would like that a lot
