If the snow's helping feet then that might be because it's packing in and giving support. Think x rays are still due? But wondering about pedal bone rotation or thin soles? Perhaps consider sole protection with styrofoam till you get those X-ray.

Farrier said Raven was walking on her soles toward the toe because of the way her feet grew out and were overly long. It was kind of buldgy if that makes sense.
When he trimmed her feet he said she had good concavity. (That she had nice feet with a good cup shape.) They werent nearly as horrible as he thought they would be.
She was walking and trotting sound right after. We were/are worried that the coffin bone has/had sunk. Monday we do xrays and farrier wants to wait until then to see if we need to make changes and if so what they should be.
We are of a like mind that her feet are most likely "ok", but that because she had gone so long walking funny because of her feet that the muscles and tendons and such are sore now that everything has been put right.
Kind of like a woman getting a new pair of really high heels, she gets a long ok but when she takes them off Oh boy her legs are sore.
When she moves it doesn't look like it's "in the hoof" that is causing the issues. More like just really sore legs.
My farrier lives on property so he is keeping an eye on them.
Does any of that make sense?

I gave them both a nice liniment massage this morning.  They seemed to enjoy it.
It got some of the funk off. Least they smell better.
When I left they were nice and toasty in their new blankets eating at a small round bale.
I think wewill see the biggest changes once we get the floats done and can see what the feet are doing.
