Well the vet did cut open a glove when she was feeling around.
I just got a report than she made quick work of her dinner and ate 2 full hay bags from 2pm to 5:30.

Sorry, haven't been closely following but was she not finishing her meals in that manner previously?   Aside, you've done a great job already CK, I love the shine on their winter coats.

She ate grain ok. No dropping or anything.
But you could hear the teeth clashing about.
She did not eat with gusto and has continued to loose weight.
While Rook rarely leaves the round bale, Raven was often just standing there looking wishfully at it.
It took her a long time to eat her hay.
John said he couldnt keep the bags full, she was eating so well last night.
He said when he put a fresh bag in the stall, she went over and starting eating and he swears her heard her say: "More Please" between bites. LOL.

Vet said as long as things progress well she shouldn't have to see them til spring now.
Which will be nice for my pocket book.

Thank everyone for the well wishes with these 2.
I am going to be honest. I thought Dave would say no.
I expected him to. Especially, after Spotty pony turned out not to be a good fit.
I have stated befor,e we try to do a "rescue" a every year.
I never posted about them on FISH because ownership was always temporary.
Now I realize I wasn't "rescuing", I was feeding them up a bit and getting some foot work done and some training.
I was nothing more than a weigh stop for a couple of down trodden horses.
These girls, I think these girls would be dead if I had not taken them.
I am able to offer personalised care and vetting that I don't think the rescue could afford, what with so many in their care.
I'm not dogging the rescue people. It's just # of horses x $$$ available = very basic care.
Raven is not out of the woods yet. There could be something we have missed.
The weight issue could be something worse than bad teeth and lack of food.
I feel confident I have given her the best chance at success.
However, if we do not start to see improvement. I will put her down.
They have grown close to our hearts.
I will not allow them to suffer.

In the words of Scarlett O'Hara:
As God as my witness. As God as my witness, they will never be hungry again!

Oh and Aramsamsam your fat ass needs to loose 30 more lbs so you can ride the ponies!!!!!!
(Private joke between the 2 of us! Aram is perfect just the way she is, unless she wants to ride my ponies!!!!!!!!!)
Wink Wink: I know where there is a saddle seat saddle I am sure will fit Rook and might fit Raven once they are fat!!
