Congrats!! My one and only english lesson left me with huge muscle cramps in both quads. At the time I was riding 4-5 hours a day but that was on foxtrotters! When I switched from gaited to non-gaited horses, I again discovered new muscles! Who knew how much work sitting a trot was? Of course the horse wasn't really trained at anything. Now he does a lovely jog that's not much work.

I know what you mean about the tears too! When I moved from home and left my horses behind I took lessons both to improve my horsemanship and because I needed equine contact. I bawled like a baby at my first lesson. Scared the instructor pretty bad. It'd been 2 months since I'd seen my horses and nearly 6 since I'd ridden. I was, umm . . . . overcome, lol. I ended up learning tons from that instructor and I never cried during a lesson again.
