I have had mild mild cases with the kick and head to side. Of course some regular horse people think that if a horse ever lays down it is in the midst of a colic episode.

Like people horses have different pain tolerances.

but my guess it that it is something more than just colic with this horse on the video.

I am not a vet, but I play one until mine can get here.

I know Buddy enough to know when his lying down is abnormal... Normally I rarely catch him down, and if I walk out to him, or even look at him, he pops up immediately. Never, never, will he allow me to touch him or pet him while down. That's what told me there was trouble. The vet has seen him in the last month, and there was nothing wrong with him- what is the something more you think could be wrong? He started up suddenly, and follows all the colic symptoms I've read. As of now, he's had a dose of banamine and is grazing happily.I'll be out to check him again later though. Never got the vet- maybe they are on vacation? No one was there when I drove over. I went to the other vet and got the banamine, and they said to keep an eye on him.

I have stopped mild colic also by mixing a half pint bottle of mineral oil with a couple of handfuls of feed. Making it kinda very watery mushy with the Mineral oil & feed it to them. Plus either let them eat fresh green grass or water their hay down real good. That will put moisture back in their gut.

They have to be still wanting to eat grain though. Just don't offer more than a few handfuls & be sure to put at least a half bottle or more of mineral oil in it.
