They've had lots of time to get used to it: we had an early winter too! Not fair!

They are promising that April is going to be well above normal. But I think they are just saying that to prevent us from offing ourselves. While we haven't had all that much snow (my 5' dog fencing is still fully visible, no digging necessary), but it has been bitterly cold for a very long time. Even pony has been feeling it. Red is normally boss, and defends the food until he is ready to share, but with him being well blanketed (sometimes with a midweight, plus 3/8" thick pure wool chunk of felt under a heavyweight blanket), and pony without (never shivered once). But I still think she was feeling the cold, and has been asserting herself and defending the food. Interresting chenge in herd dynamics!
