This is a rescue that we took in. He was very thin. He is adding weight and muscle slowly. He does have a very weak looking hind end. The newest video is a rider that was trying him out and had never ridden him before. He actually has very straight front legs. I do not think he is super fancy (if anything, I think he is ugly). His original owner and trainers thought he was going to compete through 4th level. I just don't see it. To me, he is a very average mover with limited talent. Everyone else keeps telling me how great he is. I was just checking to see if I was totally missing something. Sounds like I'm not the only one who thinks he is average at best. On the plus side, he is sweet, safe and sound (per vet check).
It's the Warmblood factor. As soon as you say the word 'Warmblood', or worse, 'Dutch Warmblood' there are people who will automatically assume the horse must be destined to be a dressage star, regardless of whether the individual animal looks and moves like a three legged donkey (which yours doesn't, but you get my point).
