I can vouch for slow feeders helping with a wood chewer IME. For my horse I imagine it's a combination of boredom and a more sensitive digestive system. The slow feeder helps with feeding and keeps his mouth occupied, which seems to be a thing for him. He'll also mouth things besides wood (most annoyingly, this includes wraps and blankets) and loves to suck on treats. He also greatly appreciated a ball which when rolled gradually released pellets and treats. To prevent damage directly we tried sriracha but I think he might have chewed on the wood anyways unless it had a very thick coating. There was a spray we used on wraps that I can't recall the name of at the moment.

"Just fire up a new window in your web browser for a moment and type in the word 'healing' under Google Images...see what I mean?  It's all colors, lights, hands butterflies, beatific expressions...

the reality of healing any living system is pain, swelling, itching, aches, exhaustion, and chaos."
