A friend of mine once had a judge laughing so much the judge couldn't even give my friend the cue to continue her test. I was the one reading her test and I was laughing just as much.
One of the largest shows in our area, six dressage rings on one side of the field, the large showjumping ring opposite of the dressage rings with a wide path, probably 10 yards, between them. The showjumping ring was also used for demonstrations during breaks, one of those demonstrations was sheep herding with dogs (border collies), 3 dogs and 30 sheep. My friend had to ride her test in the dressage ring closest to the entrance/exit of the jumping ring, through which of course the sheep also had to be herded out, and onto a large truck parked pretty much right in front of the ring my friend was riding in. The truck was blocking the view to the jumping ring, so neither of us (or my friend's horse) saw them coming.
The sheep with dogs behind them came running out of the jumping ring, but somehow the sheep turned slightly to the left instead of straight ahead onto the truck. Suddenly there were 30 sheep with dogs behind them jumping the little white dressage fences into the ring in which my friend was riding, just as she came down the centre line. Her horse nearly fell over, his eyes almost popped out of his head, and my friend let out the loudest 'OH SHIT!' just as her horse spun around, let out an incredibly loud fart, and hightailed out of the ring jumping the fence on the long side and did what was like a mini steeple chase through ALL of the other rings.
When my friend came back into the ring the judge couldn't speak for minutes as she was laughing so much she cried. The judge wrote 'thank you for the funniest thing I've ever seen in a dressage test'. She got to start over by the way and won her class.
But to this day my friends horse is terrified of sheep. This is his actual response to seeing (and hearing, it coughed) a sheep in the pasture next to the arena:
