I don't have a problem with e-cigs or the people who use them (though I DO hate the smell of the flavored ones. Sickeningly sweet, ugh). I do have a problem with people thinking they're safe, or that they'll help you quit. They aren't, and they won't unless you're using the ones that scale back the nicotine delivery. I work with people who are more addicted to the e-cigs they bought to help them quit smoking than they ever were to smoking, because they can puff on them anywhere. One friend "smokes" hers constantly, in restaurants, on the street, in the break room, etc, and is taking in way more nicotine than she ever did before. She admits her plan to quit backfired hard, but says "well, at least I won't get cancer."
