They look lovely, glad you enjoy having them at home. I was raised on a horse farm, we had a 7 stall barn, a small indoor arena, a 1/2 mile track, large outdoor arena and outdoor round pen. I got burned out TBH. At the peak, I was working 9 horses a day while in high school, plus we had a total of 24 with show and race horse as well as youngsters and breeding stock. When I moved into residence for university it was a huge relief. I honestly considered never riding again....after a year off I really missed the horses but vowed never to have horses at home again. I will ALWAYS board. I hated that we could never go on family vacations. I could never go out with friends. I had to be up super early to feed horses and clean stalls before heading to school and as soon as I got home had to do my homework so I could go out and work horses with a break for supper and then work more horses then bed. I love both places I have my horses. I love doing stalls twice a week. I love the freedom that in the non-show prep and show season I can spend time with my kids and if we want to go away somewhere it is easy to find someone to take care of the dogs and cats. When my mom moved in with us, she desperately wanted to live in the country. I told her fine but she could pay for someone to do all the daily care and maintenance because I sure as hell wasn't going to get burned out like I did before. She agreed that if I was not willing/interested in all that having them at home entails then we should not do it.
