We just had a gaggle of girls show up to look at a barrel horse we have for sale. Not only was the interested party 14 yo but they all filed into the arena and sit down cross-legged in the arena as I run the barrels.

Ummm who does this? She's not dangerous but where I'm from we never sit cross legged around horses especially when they are running speed events.

I get off and offer her to the interested girl. She already looks intimidated but gets on and walks the horse around the arena about 900 times. Umm ok but it's 12 in the afternoon and super super hot already. The horse is dripping sweat down her legs. She tries to go around the barrels but can't do them worth anything (this is not an automic horse). Her friend yells to her and she comes over and the other jumps on.

I figure that this girl who supposedly has more experience is going to actually run her properly. But no no no! Instead she goes to the opposite end of the arena and runs her in tiny tiny tiny little canter circles. My boss steps in and cuts her off. One of the others in the gaggle pipes up and says "Umm is there a problem sir". He's just like "Umm yes! You're riding my horse to death!" She replies with, "Well we can take our business elsewhere!"

And I'm just thinking THANK GOD!

I'm not against teens looking at horses but people will not take you seriously unless you have a parent, adult, or trainer with you. This is not a $900 nag. This is a $4000 mare. WTF
