If you found out that everything a "well known and respected" horse trainer told you about the horse you bought from him, was a lie?

Back to 2006:

You're told you're getting a green, but very quiet 5 year old, chestnut large pony gelding thats been used lightly in lessons and can jump a 2 ft. course.

No one uses a green pony as a lesson horse - that should have been your first clue

What you get: a 4 year old, red dun, spook at everything, take off out of the blue, HORSE gelding that refuses crossrails.

You call the trainer and ask about his background, what breed he is, are there any papers, etc. Trainer says he has no idea because the horse had been mvoed around alot and he's only had him 3 months.

Fast forward alittle over a year:

You meet a girl who used to ride "Chubby" at the trainer's barn. The way she talks about him, it seems like he was there much longer than 3 months.

Fast forward to this season:

Trainer's daughter comes over and exclaims "Chubby!" then goes on to say something along the lines of "Chubby" being her first pony. This girl is 13 or 14, and has been riding since she could walk. Something's not right there.

You ask the girl you meet before how long Chubby was at the old trainer's barn. She says atleast a couple of years.

So, what do I do? Should I confront the owner about his lying and try to get down to the truth about Titan? I'm positive this guy's got to know what breeds he is, and I want to know his exact age. Consult your veterinarian - he should be able to give you a good estimate on the horse's age.

He *should* be about 6 years old this year, but if he's been there "more than a couple years" and he was about 4 when I bought him, then they must have been riding him at only 2! Somehow, I don't think that's the case. Maybe the trainer mixed up the info. about him? He buys/sells alot of horses. Ughh, I'm so frustrated right now. I just want to know the truth about my horse. Is it worth trying to talk to his old owner about? Because maybe he's holding out and does know where Titan came from originally and I could finally find out what breeds he is.

what do I do ?:S

From what you have posted, it really is too ambiquous to blame the trainer.
