The truism in Andy's is 3day, 3mos, 3 years.. it should be the same horse just older but basically look the same. The slow maturity is actually one of my favorite aspects of the breed. Healthy horses with good bone, feet and minds. I have always found it so surprising that owners of other breeds have not picked up on the fact that the Andalusian is the working horse of Spain and Portugal. They are the everything horse with a great work ethic. Our young mare, now 4 is just starting to get a mature mare look about her. I keep telling her she's getting cute butt cheeks

I have bred many Andy crosses in the last 20+ years. My favorites are a Curly cross mare that had long ringlets in her mane, Hackney Horse cross that became a National Champion and the Azteca. That being said as a breeder dealing with the general horse public I stopped crossing as it just was not really worth my time as most buyers want the Andy look but for very little cash. It's easier to deal with purebreds.
