I am extremely wary/nervous about groups of horses turned out, and would certainly NEVER try to feed when they're all running free around me. Just too much can go wrong.

Shall I also add that I was kicked in the face when I was 14 while attempting to catch a horse that was turned out with 5 others? Yeah. I was. Hence my apprehensions. I don't have any memory of the event and nobody witnessed it (friends were in the paddock with me, but nobody saw what exactly happened). So no matter what, I do my best to get horses to come to ME at the fence instead of going in and chasing after them. I will NEVER go into a paddock alone. I don't need another concussion, amnesia, 75 stitches, or whatever worse things could have happened. I was VERY lucky.
